ANNA HINDLEY

Anna attended a four year full-time undergraduate course at the University of Glamorgan Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, graduating in 2002 with a First Class Honours degree and winning the coveted prize for academic achievement.

Anna is passionate about health, healing and chiropractic.  Since graduating she has enthusiastically continued her education across a range of health-related topics including nutrition, pain management, functional neurology, functional muscle testing, shockwave, Kinesio taping, nerve flossing and other post-graduate chiropractic techniques; she is committed to life-long learning.  Equilibrium has often acted as a training practice under the Royal College of Chiropractors Graduate Training Scheme and Anna has mentored several graduates through their challenging first year as new Chiropractors.

She has a particular interest in working with athletes and sportspeople and sees many professional and semi-professional sports-people in clinic.  She loves their commitment and the way they are so in tune with the changes in their muskuloskeletal health.  She also see a lot of weekend warriors!

She has a large tool-kit of therapeutic approaches that include diversified technique, cranial adjusting, sacro-occipital technique (SOT), upper-cervical specific adjusting, Network Spinal Analysis (NSA) and functional muscle testing. She is trained to use acupuncture for pain relief, to fit orthotics and to apply kinesio-tape to help recovery from  injuries. She has also trained in some elements of nutrition. She is also able to offer shockwave therapy for chronic tendon injuries.

Anna had congenital hip dysplasia, which was not found in time to correct it whilst she was an infant.  As a result, she underwent her first hip replacement surgery at the age of 40 after living with severe pain for years; the second was carried out in 2017. Chiropractic proved essential in managing her condition and pain both before and after surgery.  This experience has given her great insight and empathy for the constant pain of arthritic conditions and back pain.

Anna is also a graduate of the International Academy of Veterinary Chiropractic and recently completed a Professional Diploma in Animal Chiropractic. This training is considered to be the gold standard for the use of chiropractic techniques on animals and Anna regularly sees dogs, horses and even cattle for chiropractic care. She has also completed extra training in small animals (such as rabbits, guinea pigs and chickens) and exotics (snakes!!).
